Inspiration is Perishable
Nurture your creativity, but get your hands dirty and don't let it sit too long
The creative process is so delicate. And the energy of an idea is so time sensitive. Its radioactive nature means it arrives with a big bang but quickly decays over time.
It's akin to riding a bike — you must keep moving to maintain your balance and inertia. It's similarly Sisyphean — where if you stop your upward momentum, the rock rolls right back down to the bottom of the hill.
And if we don't externalize these garbled thoughts—these slivers of insight or wisdom—into something tangible, then we internalize them and they become pain.
